Novo Interactive Obtains German License for BluBet Slots Games

The State Administrative Office of Saxony-Anhalt has granted Novo Interactive’s subsidiary BluBet Operations license permission to operate virtual slot machine games in Germany.

Novo Interactive operates the Novoline online platform, offering a range of virtual slot games from various developers.

The license approval makes BluBet one of the first providers to receive such a permit, with the company now whitelisted by the Federal States Joint Gaming Authority.

Novo Interactive’s Managing Director, Oliver Bagus, said: “The State Gaming Treaty gives us a clear mandate as licensed providers: we must direct the gaming needs of millions of people through legal and safe channels, away from of the illegal market.

“It requires engaging gaming products. We take this channeling mission very seriously and are now bringing it to life with our Novoline virtual platform.

Novo Interactive holds an additional license for sports betting activities in Germany. The company is a subsidiary of Löwen Entertainment, one of the country’s largest gaming machine manufacturers and arcade operators.

The announcement comes a week after the Gauselmann Group was also granted a German virtual slot game license, after filing an initial application with the administration office in July 2021.

The approval grants the Gauselmann Group permission to offer players access to its virtual slot machine titles, under the Merkur Spiel brand.

German gambling restrictions tightened last year, as part of the new interstate gambling treaty. The move was met with industry pushback and saw Kindred Group withdraw its Unibet brand from the country.
