Nordex lands 100 MW of German orders in July

Aug. 16 (Renewables Now) – Nordex SE (ETR:NDX1) started the third quarter on a high note by securing 102MW of orders in its home market during the month of July, the German wind turbine maker announced on Tuesday.

The 10 orders received last month in Germany will see the company supply a total of 19 turbines for various customers.

“The N163/5.X was the top seller in our order intake in July, and we also scored several times with our new N163/6.X,” said Karsten Brueggemann, Vice President of Region central of the Nordex group.

The head of the company added that after the political action at the federal level with the legislative packages adopted before the summer holidays and the law on onshore wind energy, it is now time for the federal states and the municipalities to Quickly designate more areas and approve turbine installations so that the country can become independent of fossil fuels.

In the first half of 2022, Nordex installed 95 turbines totaling 440 MW in Germany, some of which have yet to be commissioned.

The company on Sunday reported a move to a loss before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization of 173.3 million euros ($178.4 million) in the first half of the year from a profit of 68.4 million euros a year earlier, as sales fell 21.2% on the year to 2.1 billion euros.
