MMPRC collaborates with a popular German magazine to promote the Maldives

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) has launched a digital and print advertising campaign with the famous German lifestyle magazine Falstaff.

The MMPRC says this three-month campaign, from June to August 2022, will help raise awareness of the Maldives as a favorite holiday destination on the e-mag as well as the print version of Falstaff magazine, in English and German. The company points out that a combined print run of 100,000 copies will be distributed worldwide.

Falstaff is a German lifestyle magazine offering the perfect combination of lifestyle and well-founded information on the topics of wine and drink, food and travel.

MMPRC indicates that this advertising campaign with Falstaff aims to achieve a content campaign to target affluent travelers to inspire and influence their decision-making. Partnering with a premium publication such as Falstaff strengthens the Maldives’ brand presence in the region, and the online and offline components of the campaign ensure significant reach to promote the Maldives in three different markets in this region: Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The campaign also promotes individual Maldives tourism products – resorts, guesthouses, hotels and cruise ships. The campaign aligns with MMPRC’s strategy to maintain the destination’s presence in this region and effectively promote various segments of tourism. This strategy aims to help the destination increase future bookings and arrivals from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The Maldives welcomed more than 1.3 million visitors in 2021, of which 94,784 were visitors from Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The German market is also among the best performing sources of tourist arrivals to the Maldives this year, with 62,950 arrivals as of June 8, 2022, ranking fourth.

The MMPRC organized several activities to maintain presence in destination and increase arrivals from these countries. This includes joint marketing campaigns with TUI Austria, TUI Germany, Condor and FTI. MMPRC has also participated in trade shows such as ITB Berlin, IMM and IMEX 2022. Several other exciting marketing campaigns are planned for this market this year, such as destination e-learning campaigns, media marketing campaigns digital and social media and a tour of the Maldives in Germany. .

As the company responsible for marketing the Maldives as an overseas destination, MMPRC conducted 260 different marketing activities in 22 global markets last year. These include trade shows, roadshows, familiarization trips, marketing campaigns, webinars and interviews.

The MMPRC points out that the Maldives was awarded the title of “World’s No. 1 Destination” (among several other accolades) at the 2021 World Travel Awards, as the greatest testament to the success of these activities. The World Travel Awards are globally recognized as the industry’s hallmark of excellence. This is the second year in a row that the Maldives have successfully won this prestigious title, a shining testimony to the trust placed in the “magic of Maldivian hospitality” by travelers from all over the world.
